Torrent Stream Terms of Use

1. The agreement

Torrent Stream is provided by InceptionApps (“we”, “us”). By installing or using the app you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the app.

Your use of the app is also subject to the rules of Google Play, where you installed it from.

2. Licence

We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to use Torrent Stream on devices you own or control, for your own non-commercial use. You may not copy, modify, reverse engineer, decompile, resell or redistribute the app, except to the extent that applicable law expressly permits it despite this restriction.

3. What Torrent Stream is, and what it is not

Torrent Stream downloads files with the BitTorrent protocol and plays videos while they download. It works only with the magnet links and .torrent files you give it — pasted, chosen from your phone, or opened from your browser or file manager.

It has no search and no catalogue, and it comes with no content. We do not host, index, link to, recommend or check any content, and we have no control over what a torrent contains or who shares it.

4. What you download is your responsibility

You are responsible for everything you add to Torrent Stream. Download, share and watch only material you have the right to, under copyright law and the law of the country you are in. Many films, series and other works are protected by copyright, and downloading or sharing them without permission may be unlawful.

Sharing is part of BitTorrent

While a torrent downloads, and afterwards while Seed after download is on, the app uploads pieces of it to other peers. Trackers and other peers see your IP address and the torrent you take part in; the privacy policy explains this. A VPN, anonymous mode or VPN-only mode does not change what you are allowed to download or share.

Files come from other people

We cannot check what a torrent contains. A file may not be what its name says. Open what you download with care.

5. Your files and your device

Torrents, downloaded files and settings stay on your phone; we neither hold nor back them up. Files in app storage are removed when the app is removed, while files in Download/Torrent Stream stay until you delete them. We are not liable for data lost because a device was lost, reset or broken, or because the app was removed.

Downloading uses your storage, battery and data plan. Download on Wi-Fi only keeps downloads off mobile data; charges from your mobile operator are yours.

6. Free version and ads

The free version is funded by advertising supplied by Google AdMob: a banner in the library, full-screen ads between playback segments and when the app opens, and rewarded videos you choose to watch. Watching a rewarded video turns ads off for a while; it does not grant a subscription. The free plan downloads 2 torrents at a time and queues the rest.

We do not control which ads are served and are not responsible for advertisers’ content or for the sites and apps their ads lead to. How advertising affects your data is described in the privacy policy.

7. Torrent Stream Premium subscription

• Premium is an auto-renewing subscription, offered on a monthly or a yearly term. It removes ads, lets any number of torrents download at once, and adds casting to a TV, VPN-only mode and scheduled downloads.
• Payment is charged to your Google Play account when you confirm the purchase. The price and currency shown in the app, which come from Google Play, apply.
• It renews automatically until you cancel it in Google Play.
• You manage and cancel the subscription in Google Play (Payments & subscriptions → Subscriptions), not by deleting the app. Deleting the app does not cancel a subscription.
• Refunds are handled by Google Play, under its policy. We cannot issue refunds for Google Play purchases ourselves.
• If your subscription ends, torrents you already added keep working on the free plan.
• If you reinstall the app or change phones, Restore purchases on the More screen checks your subscription with Google Play again.
• We may change subscription prices and what Premium includes. Changes apply from your next renewal, and where the law requires it you will be notified and asked to agree before they take effect.

We do not receive or process your payment details at any point; see the privacy policy.

8. Acceptable use

Do not use Torrent Stream to infringe copyright or other rights, to break the law, to interfere with the app or the services it relies on, or to get around its purchase or advertising mechanisms.

9. Third-party services and software

Torrent Stream relies on services operated by others: Google Play (distribution, the subscription and reviews), Google Firebase (analytics, crash reports and the app’s settings), Google AdMob (ads) and Google Cast (casting to a TV). Their own terms apply to them, and we do not control their availability.

Trackers, the DHT, peers and web seeds are run by other people. We do not control them, what they share, or whether they are available.

The torrent engine is libtorrent, used through libtorrent4j, under its open-source licences. The app also includes open-source fonts and icons under their own licences.

10. Availability and changes

We may change, suspend or discontinue any part of the app. The app reads its settings from a remote service and may show a maintenance notice or ask you to update to a supported version to keep using it. We do not promise that the app will be available without interruption or free of errors.

A torrent downloads only while other peers share it. We do not promise that any torrent will download, finish or play.

11. Disclaimer

To the fullest extent permitted by law, the app is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including any implied warranty of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy or non-infringement.

12. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential losses, for lost data, for data charges, or for claims, fines or penalties arising from what you download, share or watch with the app.

13. Termination

You may stop using the app at any time by deleting it, remembering that this does not cancel a subscription. We may suspend or end your licence if you materially breach these terms.

14. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. The date at the top of the page changes when we do, and continuing to use the app after a change means you accept the updated terms. Where a change is material, we will tell you in the app or on this page before it takes effect.
