Torrent Stream
A BitTorrent client for Android that plays videos while they download. Add your own magnet links or .torrent files, press Play once the start of the video is ready, and the rest keeps downloading while you watch.
What it does
Watch while it downloads
In Stream mode the pieces arrive in playback order. Play turns on once the start of the video is ready — 5% by default, or 2%, 10% or 20% if you change it in Settings — and the rest keeps downloading while you watch.
Stream or Standard
Each torrent downloads one of two ways. Stream fetches the video you watch first, in order. Standard is the usual torrent download and the fastest way to finish. You can switch a torrent between them later.
A player with subtitles
Subtitles from the video, from the torrent (.srt, .vtt, .ass, .ssa) or from a file on your phone, with sync, size, colour, shadow and background. Playback speed, audio tracks, and a screen lock you hold to unlock.
Series in order
When a torrent holds several videos, they download and play in natural order, so episode 2 comes before episode 10. Download first picks the one that downloads now, and the rest follow.
Downloads on your terms
Wi-Fi only, seeding after a download, and an anonymous mode that hides the client’s name and version from peers. With Premium, a VPN-only mode and a time window for downloads. If downloaded files are deleted, the app notices and downloads them again.
Files, alerts and your TV
The Files sheet plays finished videos, opens other files in other apps and opens the folder. One notification shows your downloads, with alerts when a video is ready to watch and when a torrent finishes. With Premium, cast to a TV.
Your library stays on your phone
Torrent Stream has no account and no sign-in, and we run no server that receives your files or your library. Torrents, downloaded files, settings and favourites are kept on your phone.
Like every BitTorrent client, the app connects to trackers and other peers, and they see your IP address and the torrent you take part in. The app also sends usage events and crash reports to Google Firebase, never torrent or file names, links or info hashes, and the free plan shows ads from Google AdMob. The policy lists every connection.
You choose what to download
Torrent Stream is a BitTorrent client and nothing more. It has no search, no catalogue and no content of its own. You add magnet links and .torrent files yourself: paste a link, choose a file, or open one straight from your browser or file manager.
We do not host, index or link to any content. You are responsible for having the right to download and watch what you add, under copyright and the law where you live.
What you need
- An Android phone Android 8.0 or newer. Torrent Stream is made for Android only.
- An internet connection Wi-Fi, or mobile data if you allow it.
- Torrents you have the right to download Magnet links or .torrent files that you add yourself.
Version 2.0 is available in 12 languages, in light and dark.
