Deleting your DriveMotion data
Last updated: 9 August 2026
DriveMotion has no account and no server. Your data is on your device, which means you can delete it yourself, completely, without asking us.
There is no account to delete
DriveMotion never asked you to register. We hold no user record, no profile and no copy of your trips, so there is nothing on our side to request the deletion of. Everything below is about removing data from places you control.
What data exists, and where
| Data | Where it lives | Held by us? |
|---|---|---|
| Trips, GPS routes, events, scores | A database inside the app on your device | No |
| Photos attached to trips | The app’s own folder on your device | No |
| Vehicle profile, settings, fault code history | App storage on your device | No |
| Trip videos and share cards you saved | Your photo gallery | No |
| Backup files you exported | Wherever you sent them | No |
| Support e-mail you sent us | Our mailbox | Yes |
1. Delete individual trips in the app
Open Trips → History, and delete any trip you no longer want. That removes its route points, its events and any photos attached to it.
2. Delete everything at once
Uninstalling DriveMotion deletes the app’s database and its files with it — trips, routes, photos, vehicle profile, fault code history and settings.
- Android: press and hold the app icon → Uninstall. To wipe the data without removing the app, go to Settings → Apps → DriveMotion → Storage → Clear storage.
- iOS: press and hold the app icon → Remove App → Delete App.
3. Remove the copy in your device backup
This is the step people forget. If your phone’s backup feature is switched on, your operating system may have included DriveMotion’s data in it — so a copy can survive an uninstall and come back when you restore a device.
- Android: the copy sits in your own Google account. Manage or delete it under Google One → Storage → Backups, or turn backup off for the app first under Settings → Google → Backup.
- iOS: under Settings → your name → iCloud → Manage Account Storage → Backups, select your device and turn DriveMotion off, which also deletes its data from that backup.
These backups belong to your Google or Apple account. We have no access to them and cannot delete them for you.
4. Files you exported or shared
Backup files, GPX exports, share cards and trip videos go wherever you sent them — your gallery, a cloud drive, a chat app. Delete them there. A backup file contains your complete location history, so it is worth checking.
5. Advertising identifier
The advertising identifier used for ads belongs to your operating system, not to the app. Reset or disable it under Settings → Privacy → Ads on Android, or Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking on iOS.
6. Deleting an e-mail you sent us
The one thing we do hold is any support correspondence you started. Ask us to delete it and we will, using the contact page. We aim to answer within 30 days.
