Dublio

Watch any video in your own language. Dublio writes down what is said, translates it and dubs the video with a voice for each speaker, right on your phone. Your videos never leave it.

What it does

Any video, in another language

Choose a video and the language you want to hear. Dublio listens to the speech, translates it and speaks it again in that language. A film, a lecture or a holiday clip becomes something you can follow.

A voice for each speaker

Dublio tells the speakers apart and gives each one a different voice. If you like, it keeps each speaker’s own voice instead, copied only from that same video.

Music and effects stay

Under the dub, only the original speech is turned down. The music, the sound effects and the rest of the soundtrack stay as they were.

Subtitles, translated or not

Prefer to read? Make subtitles only, in the original language or translated, or show both together. Already have a subtitle file? Translate it, or turn it into a dub.

A player made for dubs and subtitles

Start watching as soon as the first part is ready; the rest follows in the background. Switch the dub or the subtitles on and off, choose how the subtitles look, follow the transcript and keep watching in a small floating window.

Export and share

Save the dubbed video with its subtitles, or only the subtitles as a file, and share it straight from the app.

Your videos stay on your phone

Dublio has no account and no sign-in. Your videos, their subtitles and the voices Dublio makes are processed on your phone and are never uploaded, not to us and not to anyone else.

The first time you use a language or an option, the app downloads the files it needs for it; after that it works offline. It also sends anonymous usage statistics and crash reports, with nothing from your videos in them, and on the free plan it shows ads. The privacy policy explains each of these in plain words.

What you need

  • An Android phone or an iPhone The versions it runs on are listed on the support page.
  • Internet the first time Some languages and options need files that are downloaded once, when you first choose them. Wi-Fi is best. After that, Dublio works without a connection.
  • A voice for the dub language Dubs are spoken with the voices on your phone. If one is missing, the app shows you how to add it. Subtitles work without one.
  • Videos you have the right to use Your own recordings, or videos you are allowed to translate and dub.

Dublio itself is in 12 languages: English, Arabic, Chinese (Simplified), French, German, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Portuguese (Brazil), Russian, Spanish and Turkish. It follows your phone’s language, or you can choose one in its settings. Your videos can be subtitled and dubbed in many more languages.

Free, or Dublio Pro

Dublio is free to use with limits: a few videos each month, up to a set length, with short ads. The app shows how many you have left this month. Dublio Pro is a monthly or yearly subscription that removes the limits and the ads. It is sold through Google Play and the App Store, and you can cancel it there at any time. The store shows the price in your country before you buy.
